Prints at the Office

My new rule for purchasing or adding things to my closet is that I want to be able to pair the item with 4 or 5 other items in my wardrobe. If it’s an item that is not very practical and matches nothing then I will usually pass on it.  I do this to ensure that I don’t own items that I have never worn and that ultimately saves money and reduces clutter in my closet.

You may recognize the skirt’s pattern from the previous post in collaboration with Vlisco where I shared with you the process of making a 50s inspired dress using a black and white monochrome pattern.  I decided to style the dress another way, keeping with the monochrome theme to create a more practical way of styling it for everyday office wear or an event that requires a business causal look. I completed the look by adding a pop of color with hints of pink and purple.

I like your new rule of shopping. Ultimately it's important to stick to versatile pieces, though I'd love to see how you restyle this dress in several ways as I generally feel that dresses are not as versatile as seperates. I adore the print on the dress and love your layering. The pop of pink is perfect as well.Princess Audu

So there will be no need for layering but for now it works well. Thank you for your support 🙂

Love how you styled the dress. Nothing as good as a clothing item that can be styled multiple ways.www.adventuremeetsdesigner.blogspot.co.uk
