Glam Gold Decoupage Pumpkin
For the first craft, you will need a dollar store pumpkin made of any material. I purchased all the pumpkins that I used for all the DIY projects in this post at the Dollar Tree but you can easily buy pumpkins at any other stores or use any pumpkins that you have on hand.
What you will need:
- Pumpkin ( The Dollar Tree)
- Tissue paper (this one is from Dollar Tree)
- Mod Podge
- Paintbrush
How to make your gold decoupage pumpkin:
1. Cut the tissue paper into small pieces.
2. Apply a thin layer of Mod Podge to the area and gently apply your tissue paper
3. Cover the whole pumpkin with your tissue paper
4. Once dried. Apply a thin layer of Mod Podge to your entire pumpkin to seal it.
This pumpkin is easy to make and is a quick project that you can make with your kids. I love the gold leaf pattern in the tissue paper. I used this pumpkin and the other pumpkins I made as coffee table decor.
The chalk painted pumpkin:
This chalk painted pumpkin was an easy fall craft that you can do with your kids. You can paint your pumpkin any color. To paint the pumpkin I used chalk paint because it dries quickly and gives you better coverage so you don’t have to spend more time applying more layers. I choose this mint green color from the Martha Stewart collection to match the rest of the decor in my home.
What you will need:
- Pumpkin (Dollar Tree)
- Chalk paint in your desired color
- Paintbrush
How to make your painted pumpkin:
- Lightly sand down the pumpkin to ensure that the paint adheres well to the surface (when I skipped this step, I noticed more chipping of the paint from the dollar tree porcelain pumpkins)
- Paint your pumpkin with your desired paint color. Once the first layer has dried apply a second layer.
- This step is optional. To ensure that your paint does not chip seal with a clear sealant.
The Glitter Striped Pumpkin:
This last fall inspiring DIY is my favorite and goes so well with most decor items. I personally don’t decorate for Halloween but for those who do this fits nicely with Halloween decor.
What you will need:
- Pumpkin (Dollar Tree)
- Black paint
- Paintbrush
- Gold glitter (or the glitter color of your choice)
- Mod Podge
How to make a glitter striped pumpkin:
- Lightly sand down the pumpkin to ensure that the paint adheres well to the surface (when I skipped this step I noticed more chipping of the paint from the dollar tree porcelain pumpkins).
2. Paint every other section black. It is optional, but to ensure that you get more clean lines you can use painter’s tape to mark off the areas that will not be painted black. Once the first layer of black paint dries, apply a second layer.
3. Apply a thin layer of Mod Podge to the top of the pumpkin and apply glitter to the area.
4. Tap off the excess glitter
5. This step is optional. To ensure that your paint does not chip seal with a clear sealant.
I hope you enjoyed these 3 pumpkins for fall craft ideas. Please comment below which pumpkin craft was your favorite.
