habits of happy moms

Motherhood is one of the toughest jobs one can have and with it comes the burnout, exhaustion, stress and fatigue. A lot of moms struggle to balance between parenting, work, and self care. A few know how to really be happy while actively keeping up with home and work demands. This article reveals 7 simple habits of happy moms that you can incorporate into your life to make things easier, productive and satisfying.

Top 7 Hacks and Habits of Happy Moms

1. Communicate your need for help

Happy moms are not afraid to ask for help when they need it. Remember, you can not do everything and there is nothing wrong with asking for help.  You can ask for help from your parents, other family members, friends, children or spouse. You may even need to hire someone, which is okay.

2.  Self -Care

Taking care of oneself is perhaps the most underrated habit of happy moms. You need to create time to give yourself a relaxing atmosphere while doing away with all the thoughts of parenting and chores. Self care practices refresh your mind and motivate you to manage your affairs. Self-care comes in many forms. Choose something that makes you feel refreshed, relaxed and happy. Self-care also includes taking care of your physical body such as exercising, eating well, practicing good hygiene etc. Also read my previous self-care post  for more self-care ideas.

3. Give some hugs

Hugs have been proven to be very therapeutic, nothing works better than lifting your spirits than a hug from someone that you care about.

4. Get Active

Another way to be happy as a mom is to incorporate physical activity into your lifestyle. There are so many benefits of activity that it is well worth taking the time to get active. Here are some benefits below.

5. Plan a routine

Having a daily routine makes sure everyone knows what is expected of them each day, you wouldn’t have to do everything for everyone. For instance, you wouldn’t need to remind the kids to brush their teeth when they get out of bed or take the dish to the kitchen after meal, the workload eases on you.

6. Hang out with your girlfriends

Happy moms take time out to socialize with their friends. Go to the spa, watch a funny movie together or attend a comedy show. Do whatever makes you laugh all the stress away.

7. Sleep Well

Find ways to get enough rest. That may mean going to bed early and waking up early or it could mean taking naps when your kids take naps. Moms who are sleep deprived tend to be more irritated and distracted. Also, sleep deprivation also tends to make people feel overall bad.
