One of my favourite holiday traditions is Christmas dinner. It gives the family the opportunity to sit down together and satisfy everyone’s appetites with good food. This year will be a bit different for my family because we will be hosting Christmas dinner at our new home. So, when my friend asked me to help her with her entertaining dilemma I was all for it, after all I am going to need the practice. She was looking for a modern and festive table settling that would not cost her much. Continue reading to read my 4 budget friendly holiday table setting tips.
Choose a theme/ Color Scheme:
The starting point to the perfect table setting is choosing a theme or color scheme. I decided to keep things simple and went with a simple festive holiday tablescape using red and gold.
Use what you already have:
As much as we may want to go out and buy all the beautiful things that we are loving and seeing, it’s just not feasible for most people. Therefore, plan to use what you have and make it work. My girlfriend already had some wonderful Christmas decor that she had around her house. We decided to use her JOY sign and these Christmas ornament lanterns. I had the gold trees from previous Christmas decor and decided to add a personal touch by styling my DIY holiday cinnamon stick candles.
Add some fun elements with fun Accessories:
I found these fun plaid chargers and thought they would be a fun way to add color to the table. I also found these adorable mini wreath ornaments that we turned into napkin rings. Lastly, I continued the gold theme by using gold cutlery.
Keep it simple and clutter free:
Keep your table simple and clutter free. You want space for your guests to be comfortable and to place food or other food related things on the table. Therefore, less is more.
I attempted to play with video content and thought I would show you guys the table setting details in a video. Enjoy!
